Who We Are

Cozzian Enterprises is a specialized formulation consulting practice providing technical R&D services to companies developing cosmetics, nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, personal care products, and related consumer goods.

Led by Shaun Bechard, a formulation scientist with cross-functional experience in research and development, quality control, and regulatory affairs, the firm serves startups, established brands, contract manufacturers, and companies navigating regulated product categories.

Cozzian Enterprises provides R&D and prototyping services only—not commercial manufacturing.

Background & Expertise

Our work is grounded in formal training in chemistry and hands-on experience across the product development lifecycle—from initial concept and bench-scale formulation through quality assurance, stability testing, and regulatory documentation.

Technical Competencies

  • Formulation Science: Development and optimization of emulsions, suspensions, solutions, gels, tablets, capsules, powders, and other dosage forms across cosmetic and nutraceutical applications
  • Quality Control: Analytical method validation, raw material testing, in-process quality checks, and finished product release testing
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Working familiarity with FDA regulations for cosmetics, OTC drugs, and dietary supplements (21 CFR Parts 111, 210, 211, 700, 720); EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009; INCI nomenclature; DSHEA compliance; and GMP principles
  • Ingredient Technology: Selection and evaluation of actives, excipients, preservatives, emulsifiers, surfactants, thickeners, and functional ingredients based on performance, regulatory status, and cost parameters
  • Stability & Compatibility: Design and interpretation of accelerated and real-time stability studies; ingredient interaction assessment; packaging compatibility considerations
